Dream big, leap with faith and make a plan to achieve your goals this New Year.

People with goals succeed because they know where they're going.- Earl Nightingale

Happy New Year! I hope it's been off to a blessed start for you. As we enter 2024, I encourage you to embark on a journey of becoming your best self and winning in all areas of your life.

Let me first share my journey with goal setting and why I'm passionate about helping others define theirs with ease:

Personally, I've grappled with the challenge of goal-setting in the past, from ticking off a dream career goal and it falling short of expectations, starting a business the week lockdown was announced and having plans and ambitions thrown out the window, to the weight of setting targets, not just for myself but for my team, clients, business, and family etc growing into a tangled web of smaller micro-actions. Initially, these experiences led to negative feelings about goals. However, I've come to appreciate the beauty of simplicity, flexibility, and adaptability within a plan. This shift in perspective has transformed my outlook, enabling me to view goals as tools for growth and evolution rather than constraints.

Reflecting back over the last year or so, I've come to appreciate that some of my most profound achievements weren't meticulously planned. Those "wow, look at God" moments were beyond things I could have imagined, reminding me that showing up with the right mindset and posture can attract opportunities that surpass even our wildest dreams. It's a testament to the idea that personal growth equips us to handle unforeseen blessings with grace and capacity.

So, here's my game plan for 2024 – I'm forgoing a rigid playbook and going for something a bit more chill. No more overthinking or feeling weighed down by the pressure of setting perfect goals. Through finding a better approach, embarking on coaching and speaking to experts, here are some gems I'd like to pass on:

1. Reflect on the past:

Before setting new goals, take a moment to reflect on the past year. What did you achieve? What challenges did you overcome? Reflecting on your experiences provides valuable insights and a solid foundation for crafting meaningful goals.

2. Dream Big, Start Small:

Take the limit off and push your imagination. Think of audacious bold goals for 2024? Once you have a vision, break it down into smaller, manageable goals. This step-by-step approach makes your ambitions more achievable and less overwhelming.

"Success isn't about how your life looks to others. It's about how it feels to you." -

Michelle Obama

3. SMART Goals:

Make your goals Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound (SMART). Clearly define what success looks like to you, set measurable milestones, ensure they're realistically attainable, align them with your overall vision, and assign a timeframe for completion.

4. Create a Vision Board:

Visualise your goals by creating a vision board. Compile images, quotes, and symbols that represent your aspirations. Placing this visual reminder in a prominent place can motivate and help keep you focused.

5. Develop an Action Plan:

An action plan is your roadmap to success. Divide your goals into smaller actions that lead to their achievement. Set quarterly and monthly goals that contribute to your overarching yearly objectives. Regularly revisit and adjust to stay on track and hold yourself accountable.

"Set realistic goals, keep re-evaluating, and be consistent." — Venus Williams

6. Stay Positive and Persistent:

Challenges are inevitable, but maintaining a positive mindset is crucial. Embrace setbacks as learning opportunities. Stay persistent in your pursuit of goals, and remember that every step forward, smal or big, is progress.

7. Accountability Partners:

A fun way to approach 2024 goal-setting is as a bonding activity by involving a group. This not only adds accountability but also creates a supportive environment.

Share your goals with a trusted friend or mentor. Having someone to hold you accountable can provide motivation and support. Regular check-ins with your accountability partner can help you stay on track.

8. Celebrate Small Wins:

Acknowledge and celebrate each achievement, no matter how small. Recognising your progress boosts a sense of hope and motivation and reinforces your commitment to the larger goals.

"Believe you can, and you're halfway there." — Theodore Roosevelt.

9. Adaptability and Flexibility:

Life is unpredictable (remember 2020!), and plans may need adjustment. Be open to change; if circumstances require, modify your goals while keeping your ultimate vision in mind.

10. Pour into yourself and development

Remember your self-care, growth and development in your goals. Embrace opportunities to learn and evolve. Seek new skills, hobbies, and knowledge that align with your aspirations.

Here's to a year of becoming a better you as you work towards your goals, unexpected blessings and achieving things beyond your wildest dreams!
